Roney Poem by Mike Kosman

Roney

Roney you're a dreamer
A misplaced country boy
Hoping and believing
That your dreams just might come true
You talked about the big time
The good life and tomorrrow
I was dreaming right beside you
I'm a dreamer just like you

We sang our songs together
A thousand times or more
In the living room, to the cellar walls
And in the backyard for so long
But the bright lights never shined on us
Nobody heard our songs
But we always had tomorrow
So we kept dreaming on

Say you're going down to Arkansas
To the land where you were raised
Another dream to follow
A better place to be
But the memories, the hopes and dreams
Remain here in my soul
Cause as you leave you're taking
Just a little bit of me
