Rules To Live By.....

White is the robe, life's denying
Through wayward selfish wrongs
Still burdened with shame while dying
Singing hell's loathsome songs

Ere time began God thought out rules
As part of Heaven's plan
Never sitting between two stools
Life's laws He gave to man

Yet filthy with devils walking
In hell's licentious shawl
Backbiting, abhorrent talking
In Satan's trap to fall

One may cheat, deceive, lie and kill
Detestable on high
Shameless behaving at Satan will
Until the day we die

But what will Heaven have to say?
The Judge of all on earth
What consequence should each one pay
Since sin was given birth

Is God not righteous in His courts?
Does God not love and care?
Seeing, hearing witness reports
Should He behave unfair?

Not a moment, not in the least
Life's King reigning on high
From angel, devil, man nor beast
Will He the truth deny

So best beware in all we do
What utterance we share
Though souls may live through birth anew
God's eyes are everywhere.....
