São Paulo Poem by Goddo Faggotte

São Paulo

The favelados dripped
like greasy chorizo
In the City of Drizzle
The moradores da favela
Slithered and slipped
down the mudslope
into the Frying Pan of
The City of Saint Paul.

In their thousands they dripped
Drop by drop
Not to fill the frying pan but
To fan the flames of
The City of Drizzle on Fire

In the rain.
All they will leave behind is
Their skin on the wet tar.
Black blood seeps slowly,
Sticky and salty, into
The smouldering city streets.

In nomine Patris, et Filii,
et Spiritus Sancti.
Amen.
