Sacred Heart, Immaculate Heart Poem by Michael Walker

Sacred Heart, Immaculate Heart

Love's the only language that they know;
Thus, they face our hate with sweetest silence,
To bear with smiling eyes the final blow,
Through tears that scent our violets' violence.

So, they let us their hearts cannibalize,
Consuming ourselves in our mean passions,
Although they desire to canonize
Us, if we only abandon fashions.

No heart can beat, nor can any mouth breathe!
Without the Victim of such treachery
As made Judas' silver-streamed greed seethe
And makes us lose our love of lechery.

May the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts
Melt the steel will of our sin's darts!
