Sanity Poem by Maura Sánchez

Sanity

I saw the leaves turn and fall apart
Just like my heart
decayed with your part
The autumn in my hair
would soon be gone
but like one admires the beauty of dawn,
you will always be there

I watched the sun slowly set
and it seems like no further from you i can get
The memory of when we first met-
So vague I become upset

I ran to you with a broken heart
and you gave me hope for a new start

I fall in love with the dreams of our future
Even after we've reached demise
there exists no nomenclature
For it can never be devised

Nor actions to show-

My heart is truly mended
I hope one day you will really know
And for reasons unintended,
I came to love you so
