  Rapacious ghost within,
ravening dreams,
it was a barbaric meeting.

Dire consequences resulting
from grim glory of the body.
It was inhuman, insensitive, merciless, pitiless, uncivilized, lewd,
and carnal.

Shame incapable of existing in the demoniac's mind.

Down in town,
sitting on the bench,
blood from the night before
turning flaky on the chest.
Charm and chemistry killed the victim.

Hanky-panky, blood on the blanky.
Flirting began hurting.
Depravity was part of the activity.
Adultery has come back to haunt the soul.

Brute force
has run its course.
The officer is next on the list
Kissed by the officer's fist,
cuffs on the wrist
torturous trysts have come to an end...

I loved the title of your poem and was drawn to it at once. Read through and grew sombre. Great description, words make one flick through flash cards of the scene. And the story leaves emotion behind when it's through.
Thanks for sharing! [was so anticipating a romantic lustful piece! Will read more poems by Melissa Hurst.
