Save Your Pity For The Trees... Poem by Jenna Marie

Save Your Pity For The Trees...

You were so caught up in her
The beauty I once wished to be
All I wanted was your eyes on me
For a second of your time
Was that too much

Was I selfish for that one wish?
For you to look at me
And come to the realization
I was more than you thought I could be

Did you know I loved you?
Even if you did
Even if you wanted too
Your answer would always be no

She was on your mind
All those nights
The cause of your blindness
She blurred your sight

It brings me to think maybe you
Were never worth my time
The tears I cried for you are dried
The words I have wanted to say
Have no meaning

I don’t want your apologies
Just listen to the words I am saying
Dont give me your leftovers
Your words of pity and pain
This is what you deserve for leaving me in the rain
While you enjoyed your sunshine filled day
