Sawed Off Limbs

You have made me this way
You have taken it all away
Left lying in a hospital bed
Broken and shattered
With sawed off limbs

You don’t let me touch you
You don’t let me walk near you

You have made me this way
Have taken it all away
Left me lying in a hospital bed
Broken and shattered
With sawed off limbs

But you don’t even care
That I have been crippled by love
Your arms and hands
Your legs and feet

You made me this way
You took it all away
Left me lying in a hospital bed
Left me staring at the ceiling
For hours on end
But you don’t even care
You go on your way just chopping,
Off limbs of men who fall deeply for your scent

I

I AM not One who much or oft delight
To season my fireside with personal talk.--
Of friends, who live within an easy walk,
Or neighbours, daily, weekly, in my sight:
