Scare Crolls Poem by EZEKIEL MAU

Scare Crolls

Rating: 4.5

Why is it always on the farmland?
The farmer has his reasons
Of putting such horrible glance before your eyes
That image that scares away life from you as your heart skips count,
even in the broad daylight
Birds dare not perch,
For to them it only eats and belch
If this is the only farmland, they'll rather starve to death
Scare scrolls are not only on the farm you know?
But everywhere fertile enough for your dreams to grow
Sometimes looking like a six footed beast
Or a dwarfy-shrubby man eating tree
Dressed like the devil himself with fresh fire blazing its hair
This is no Pentecost; it only lives in your head
You rented your heart to an enemy
He feels more comfort there than would in Beverly
Show it out your home!
Devils shouldn't live there but hell
Do it now before it finds ten
Hey little bird, can I whisper in your ear?
That bird eating creature is but wood and rags
Go on, spread your wings, fly and land
Pluck out its eyes, if they exist to cry
Don't let it deprive you of meat to life
Stitch it quick and save nine
Scare scrolls are not real
Just wood and rags
