Secret Poem by Chhavi Anupam

Secret

My heart
beats fast
when I see you,
I pluck
the petals
of the marigolds:
he loves me
he loves me not,
this is my ‘secret’.

But the secret
got spilled,
I tripped
and you caught
my secret.
But do you know
I know
your secret,
because I saw you

tossing the coin:
heads she loves me
tails she loves me not.
I guard my secret,
you guard yours,
I know
destiny is cruel
and we are
star-crossed.

And never ever,
howsoever wished hard
talisman, amulets, charms
notwithstanding
my secret
will converge,
with your secret
to blossom
into ‘our’ secret!
