Secrets Poem by Linda Barnes

Secrets

We all have secrets
That we share with one
Just kept between friends
Because that is the fun

Harmless to most
When not divulged
Only to be questioned
When a fact comes alive

When unexpected events
Brings to light the truth
Those hidden secrets
Harm those not in the loop

A promise to someone
To hide their other life
Is not well thought out
When you take that vow

There will be pain some day
To many who are blind sighted
When the revelations of those
Many secrets are exposed

Well written and true. Secrets can be insidious
