Seed And Sprout Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Seed And Sprout

The same words parroted I had ere,
When poor begged me petty alms to spare:
‘I can't give, go away',
That begging bawl I pray—
The words haunt me today, me to stare.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A rich man never believed in giving. When a beggar used to come crying, ‘give, give', he used to say ‘I can't, leave, leave'. The same words and fate now haunt him. The wheel of fortune has turned a full circle.

I thought I was reading others more than others read me. But is not it rather hasty to judge from the feedback received. If only PH gives cumulative readership/hits for each poem. But I take your point and see what can be done. I give more time in writing poems I write. Besides I do other writing not reflected on PH. Thank you.
