Self Demise

You can’t God’s Spirit disobey
Continue in disgrace
Living always in disarray
And see God’s smiling face

You speak of love you frequent church
Pay tithes, sing songs of praise
For righteousness you’ll come in search
But fail to change your ways

You’ll talk and talk on bended knee
For knowledge seek to find
But self prevents your eyes to see
What Heaven has in mind

It’s not to self! The Truth I give
It’s not for self to shine
But living so your neighbours live
When seeing you are mine

Pray not in public to be seen
Nor dance and sing for fame
But walk and talk as would a queen
Without a hint of shame

I am The Lord, my promise true
With love my grace is free
I’ll pour you blessings like the dew
When you serve none but me

Be humble now lead self to die
Bring glory to my Son
Lift now your Saviour’s banner high
So victory may be won

The world will see my holy bride
Many will gather round
From which a few will come inside
And rise to higher ground…….
