Serenity Of A Summer's Day Poem by David Harris

Serenity Of A Summer's Day

Sitting on my favourite bench
down by the water's edge
watching nature's serine touch
unfolding before me as an observer
on a sunny summer's day,
hoping that my words don't fail me
as I describe the season's touch
with the coloured butterflies
flitting from flower to flower
and the ripples sparkle
as they are caught by the sun,
feeling the refreshing breeze
that takes the heat away
while watching the shadows
of plants and trees dance across the ground
in the serenity of a summer's day
with all its infectious colours
soothing all that behold.
