Shadow And I Poem by Rajesh Gurung

He walks
With his shadow
And asks
“do you know? ..
i am all alone
at the end of the day
When you are borne
By the night away? ”

The shadow replies;
“do you know how lost
I am when light dies
And i am amidst ghosts?
How i am one with the night
With noone to ease my plight
Yearning for dawn
When we become one? ”

He breaks into a smile
As he contemplates
The silence lingering a while
His lonliness dissipates
