Shadows, Ghost, Memories Poem by Joseph Caraveo

Shadows, Ghost, Memories

Rating: 0.5

The walls around me are closing in
I feel your words
They crawl through my skin
I try so hard to set them free
Shadows
Ghost
Memories
Your face, your voice
Stature
Glare
The fire still burns
Now your here
My insides crawl
The little boy cries
I'm trying so hard to forget those times
You were no where around
When i needed you
Now you come calling
WHAT SHALL I DO
I washed my hands
or so I thought
Your here now
Can I pay the cost
A little boy grieving
left alone to die
You reopened wounds
Through a grown mans eyes
I want to forgive you
and love you
I do
Theres so much pain
Cant cut it loose
I'm breaking down day by day
The little boys afraid
Wants to run away
The scars on your body
are burned in my soul
I still see the blood
Ambulance screams
Some freakish nightmare
Just not on a screen
No actors paid
but the cost was high
You stole his life
Now wonder why
Why
You ask
Cant I look at you
Have you forgotten
What you put me through
