Shanti Poem by Subhadip Bhattacharya

Shanti

Having touched myself, finally,
I mean not physically, but
As if touching rock bottom...
That is the bottom of my heart.
I find immense pleasure and comfort
As if there's no other comfort more than that.
More so enjoying with a song
Or a cigarette.
Although I will quit one day...
At least that's the plan.

But speaking of touching rock bottom
More of bottom of my heart,
I still don't know what there's store for me
But this present moment,
And there's hard work ahead,
To go on with the livelihood.
But still.
I am not gay, but
This touching of myself is slow to begin
And then as if getting some water,
Then it's rather tickling
As if tickling your own body.
A comic relief.

Specially alone and sometimes
Traveling through people,
Sale, offers, supreme restaurants
Shopping malls and happy hours.
I feel great that Ifind pleasure
In none of these supreme conditions but
That I have no idea of what lies ahead.
Shanti inhindu text means not only peace
But whatever it really means
I think I have found it.
