'She' Poem by Katherine York

'She'

She gave until...
There was nothing left to give.
Buried her soul...
For she wished not to live.

She wept until...
Rivers began to flow.
Jumped in...to drown...
Yet lived, Why? She will never know.

She opened her heart until,
It could hold no more.
Asked for a helping hand...
Hope crashed upon the floor.

She loved...until...
It consumed, her whole being.
Yet....he still left her...
Unable to believe what she was seeing.

She offered all...even her soul,
Anything...just to keep their love whole,
Held her heart...in her hands bleeding.
He...never knew...just what she was needing.

She buried her soul...
And wished not...to live.
Opened her heart...but
There was nothing for her to give.

When she was needy and implored.
Love was cast...to die on the floor.
