She Prayed Poem by Jackie Kirby

She Prayed

In the middle of a hurricane
she stood tears in her eyes
An prayed to survive keep me
strong an help me hold on for
I'm not ready to die
The winds hit a 105 trees and
homes were blown away Clouds
were Grey filled with thunder
and rain Madden waves were
flooding the land she stood
an prayed keep me strong help
me to hold on.The water rising
to her chest As the hurricane
came to rest She prayed send
someone to rescue me The water
is getting to high looking into
the sky 2 men in chopper rescued
her Took her home that very night
she prayed Thank you Lord for all
that you have done she open the
door wonder where her husband was
Entering in to their bedroom She
found him knelled over the bed
With a picture of her as he cried
from thought of losing her He turned
to see that she had survived he wrapped
his arms around her you are my life
Then she said i must pray as he heard
Thank you Lord for keeping me strong
and bringing me home to the one i love
