Shed On Me Your Light Of Gold Poem by Perdita Young (Hanna Wang)

Shed On Me Your Light Of Gold

Rating: 5.0

I still remember the day we first met
As if we'd known the other from of old,
You smiled,nodded, and gazed into my eyes,
And your name, number and address twice told.
I remember my puzzle o'er our chance,
Doubting some movie before me was unfold:
You being the hero, me your princess,
I turned to you for help and got consoled…
I guess our story is one of th' old mold,
I'm just a woman not so different;
The drudge of life tends to make my heart cold,
And days and months sneak traceless and quiet.
Still I will try to stay young for your sake,
To catch the chariot of time and it hold;
And you, Beloved, are not to stand idle,
You'll have to shed on me your light of gold.
