Shifted Whispers
Whispers shifted
Slipping of dirty tongues
Into clean ears
Swimming through
Soaring down
Silly minds
Into mindless hearts
Into feverish dreams
Shifted whispers
Climbing the thickness of
Night’s heavy air
Slipping
Sticking
Under fingernails
Resting atop eyelashes
Cascading down the spinal cord
Racing through the veins
Driving at the soul.
