Shofar
Shofar, this ritual object of the Jews
Most iconic, most ancient
Is now cleaned; as hearts should.
But
I wonder: “does any insider, outsider
Read the true message? ”
Or
It is just a toy for a game
New Year.
Elul until the end of Rosh HaShanah.
Sure
It must; in fact
Awaken and inspire:
“Be human, repent.”
