Short Battle Poem by Joshua Gilchrist

Short Battle

From a distance I can see
You falling for a misery
Standing strong, but still you’re weak
Thinking why is this happening
Crashing down the motion now
Crying tears are falling down
Sorrow must be around
Limits are being passed
Maybe I should have asked
The fight is here, so let’s get ready
Can I make myself get steady?
I’m thinking how long it seems
I’m starting to lose belief
Lord come, take it away
My spirit is telling me to pray
I’m feeling down, kind of little
Then my father comes to say
Child don’t be so afraid
It’s just a short battle
