Siaq Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Siaq

Siaq

How I miss what I saw
in days that I was child
among them a writing
simply called: "Siaq".

Imagine class, math
Calculus, Algebra
getting Roots, Integral
Matrices, Binaries, Digital…

Are they good for essay?
Can you write Love-letter?

We had shop
a man came every night
he had bike
trousers were too large
loose and deep his pockets
in one had a booklet
took it out…

"You purchased…"
he gave names
and price and the weight:
"for total…"
then went on:
"you have paid…"
and at end gave balance.

I had them in normal
with figures and the signs
plus and, minus or, multiply.

He sure was dot to dot
and correct was account.

But we could never read
nothing of what he wrote.

"What is this? " I asked my brother.
He told me: "Their writing is Siaq."
