** SIDE-WALKS
Our village roads have no side-walks,
One must lookout for bullock-carts,
cycles and motorbikes!
Cars are few, they make noise and kick-
up dust, -
To warn you generally in advance!
In the city I always use the side-walks,
It is always safer that way;
A habit difficult to break I must say!
Thus all my life I had been away from the
mainstream and on to the side;
Hoping that way I would better survive!
Now I keep plodding through the sunset
into the dusk, -
Hoping this side-walk will forever last!

Like you I have reached the gentler part of life, no stress, no desires for more. I walk slowly on my sidewalk taking in the passing scene; I sometimes rest there is no rush, if I look forward I can see my happy path meander on and on for miles. I hope yours does too. Thank you for this lovely reflective poem. Bob Blackwell
lovely poem, runs so rhythmically. side walks, away from limelight, walking into twilight. city sidewalks safer than chaotic traffic in rural areas. one hes to be thankful for small mercies. 10 Mamta
