Silence Poem by MOLOY BHATTACHARYA

Silence

The tribal girl
from a remote land
in white uniform
walked to school
through a field.

Black clouds rumbled
and ensued the storm,
whirled the trees like lunatic
refusing room to birds
that flapped and flew.

From a forlorn hut
beside the holy grave
barked a stray dog
at each of the men gobbled
the prey ravenously.
