Silent Sunset Poem by Len Webster

Silent Sunset

Silence often speaks where words would interfere.

In the stillness of the moment
We can be close together,
Quite naked,
Though clothing lie between
And our different organs, unaroused,
Make no effort to disturb our mutual world.

Nothing can disturb us now,
Watching as we do the sinking of the day
Without a word,
Thankful that no word lies between our fears.

Words: mere drops of thought,
Shadows of the gushing fountain
At the well-head of love.
