Silent Witness Poem by Royston Nella

Silent Witness

Look up at the vast universe and see
the heavens proclaiming God's majesty.
For throughout the whole world the stars declare
God's greatness and His loving care.

There's no place in which their voice is not heard
For they speak in tongues not confined to words.
All throughout the night their anthem they raise
singing to God their great chorus of praise.

As we listen to what they have to say
we join their praise as we walk on our way.
For each star in the universe so bright
shines out for His Glory every night.

Lifting our spirit to heaven above
and praising God for His mercy and love.
Rejoicing that He cares for each of us,
and reveals His love to us through Jesus.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Written after reading Psalm 19

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice[b] goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
