Simple Beauty Poem by Alfred Ramos

Simple Beauty

Rating: 4.5

It first appeared in her profile
Even though it was just a half smile
I knew a full smile would be fun and laughter
I saw the ring, but it was not what I was after
Just an observation, an admiration of simple beauty
The joy of seeing what is there, my duty
Her hair flowed gently across her face
Exposing a slight hint of gray in the right place
She was like a window to a new world
A breath of freshness ready to unfurl
She took possession of the room
Radiating a glow like a flower in bloom
The way she pursed her lips as if to kiss
A pleasant pleasure to reminisce
Brought a urging sense of righteousness to front
Like finding the prize to a treasure hunt
Every line, every crease spelled confidence
But not a single sign of ambivalence
She wasn’t beautiful, she was a bit cute
But definitely someone worth the pursuit
Then I saw the dimple on her chin
Looked a lot like mine but more thin
A racing thought crossed my mind
What if we had met in another place and time
Would the meeting of our eyes
Send silent vibrations of surprise
Like this encounter was meant to be
But I’ll just walk away admiring the simple beauty

Beauty is in they eyes of the beholder, as the saying goes! Yes, it is within an individual who sees the kind of beauty that captures his heart! High marks.
