Sinking, Breaking, Letting Go Again Poem by Lorene Kinsey

Sinking, Breaking, Letting Go Again

sinking, breaking, letting go again
of the one I want most to hold on to,
can't stop it this time
have to try to let this run its course,
though I fear that just a glimpse
could make me an addict again
think daily of my blissful intoxication
the taste, smell, sounds,
letting go, I have to, let go
of this mirage that I hold on to.
I am whole with the hope of my next dose
and empty thinking I have had my last.
Not sure I can stop, let go, good-bye,
don't go, wait, go away, keep telling
myself you are already gone.
I can't help but miss you in my life
