Skills Poem by Lamar Cole

Rating: 5.0

The inner city streets offer a lot of non-degreed skills.
A person can learn to push drugs or pills.
Burglary or carjacking for a thrill.
Robbing banks and convenience stores at will.
Or a person can follow the straight and narrow.
And get an education or a trade.
Then in life, that person will have it made.

Don't know that they'll necessarily have it made- - sometimes, good guys finish last with low-paying jobs. But at least, the straight-and-narrow guys will avoid an early and violent death, or spending the majority of their lives in prison. A well-worded poem with a moral at the end!
