Nina Dringo (San Diego)

What do you think this poem is about?

Sky

Look
At the sky
So blue
So bottomless
So neverending

Wherever you are
The sky
Stretches on forever
Above that
Is the vast expanse of space
And beyond that - what?
Does it even matter?

I have only one hope
In this world of cruel lies
It doesn't matter, after all
How I lived or died
Because I wasn't able
To be who I wanted to
All I hope
Is that one day

My memory will be as big
As the sky.
