Slight Deviation Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Slight Deviation

Aware of a limit to her literary genius
Grammatical errors made some poets cough,
Over her leather-bound book she would ponder
Memorizing the Bard's 'Love Labour's Lost'.

'A Comedy of Errors' by William Shakespeare
Lifted her interest to a much higher level...
But on reading 'Othello' and 'Timon of Athens'
She thought she was fighting the devil.

She transferred to a more modern location
So anxious was she for slight deviation,
And although feeling pangs of guilt and regret
Her heart seemed set on works of Lord Tennyson.
