Slips The Skin Poem by Mason Maestro

Slips The Skin

Back home to unceasing jealousy
From the harbor and the anchored Legacy
Was there a contradiction in the tone of my voice?
Well, enough with this- I'm heading out with the boys
...and when I feel constrained like this...
I'll toss this excess weight
To the bottom of the English Channel

Headless job without a face
born on the task to go on like this
grip the fish that escaped the net
burning up, it slips the skin
walk alone, demand within

...and when I feel constrained like this...
I'll toss this excess weight
To the bottom of the English Channel
