Snowshoe Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Snowshoe

Snowshoe

Do not know word
- "Stop"
-must go on:
- "Add it up, top it up."
-must learn, learn
-that is joy

Can live with eating less
-do not care what I wear
-in dingy I can live

Why? Why? Why?
-are columns on which I
-build palace of my love
-love, love, love

My cousins
-boys and girls, elderly
-men, women; poor and rich

Indians, African and Arabs
-of the North and the South

Hate, to me is just one
-that is wall
-wall, wall, wall

Via wealth or greed
-age, colour or gender
-or bricks and cement
-Trump's or Israel's…

I enjoyed hugging the daughter of
-my cousin and colleague, Armenian
-pleased felt when helping surprised
-and sheepish eyes of the Lebanese
-runs honour in me when chatting with Turk, Greek
-a great thank you, people who listen to
-my Farsi and Urdu to Russian…Arabic or Turkish Spanish…

All of us are cousins…I love you…no to walls; any kind…
