So Light Poem by Marilyn Jean

So Light

Perhaps
Too many months passed
More weeks followed
They both went there
Then, safely returned
Now
They felt so very tired
And even rather empty
But were still strong
So, here, both were happy
Next
Tomorrow kept coming
Moving a stone or two
Then welcoming again
Joy in their busy life
Again
They thought, pause, breath
Stop and rest soon here
Let me in your sweet arms
For you only fill my dreams
Often
It felt they tried to avoid
Or thought it was too silly
Or even simply plain mad
But, here, this was not that
No more
Cries, shouts, tears or aches
Shutting their mind eyes
Nor their soft loving hearts
Tight on each other dreams
Just
Let it be much nicer
Make it very very gentle
And so amazing and light
But hold on hard and tight
Always
Be friendly and nice
Polite almost fragile
Like the roses of June
When the short night falls
Only
Know, here, I am with you
I stay quietly waiting
When you sleep or don't
I watch over you, so near
Whenever
Time rushes again on us
A smile again lights
My heart ablaze, and
So will yours, we know
Soon
Or maybe just after
But sooner the better
Life meets us with laughter
Then stays with us forever
