So Many Lessons Poem by Phil Soar

So Many Lessons

Rating: 4.0

I've learnt so many lessons
Since lockdown kept me in
From how to make and elegant cake
To a room that needs painting
I've stood outside and ran around
In circles by my door
I've ran around 'til I'm dizzy
And fell upon the floor
I've shopped for things essential
To keep me fit and well
I feel quite existential
But there's no-one I can tell
I haven't seen my neighbours
I hope they're doing fine
Perhaps they're busy lockdowni
Just like this house of mine
I've cleaned 'til I can't clean no more
And felt tired in the process
I've cleaned my teeth and licked the floor
I've now got halitosis
The lives we live have changed for good
We all have learned some neat new tricks
To keep ourselves updated
Let's hope our lives recover soon
And it leaves us all elated

From each action or failure or success we learn many things as lessons. This poem is very brilliantly penned.
