Soceity Poem by Edward Veilleux

Soceity

Live as others around you have,
Keep yourself conformed, don't be sad.
Live blindly, love the same way.
Go to work 9 to 5, collect your pay.
Go to school, write your tests.
Don't be late, study and do your best.

Meet a girl, give her your heart.
If it doesn't work out, go back to the start.
Get alot of friends, show you care.
In times of trouble, show them you're there.
Be a good person, stray not from the pack.
Live as you're told and you must never look back.

I thought education would encourage free thought,
instead it shapes us, encourages us to be what we're not.
Life is full of choice, but don't mischoose,
The minute you screw up, your conscience lies abused.
Make it to the top by whatever necessary means,
Help out your fellow man, abandon selfish dreams.

Well, I'm tired of work, of people, of school.
I am annoyed by these idiots, hypocrites and fools.
I don't need to make millions, to be content.
I'd be happy to live decently, with money for rent.
All I need are a chosen few, to experience this life of mine,
As for those not worth the time and effort, goodbye.
