Social Distancing Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Social Distancing

Rating: 5.0

Life, you not with me seems as empty
As a super market shelf can be,
It's bad being lonely,
But pity's what kills me,
Now one day emptiness
Wish, comes to me to bless,
That, I live minus your pity-clad sympathy.

I concur with the insightful thoughts of the great Poet in this wonderful limerick. Yes, we don't want pity. We are reduced to being unable to sway with life. Emptiness and loneliness are like waves in the ocean, they are so fleeting. Liked the opening lines. Great poetic expression.
