Some Time In August 04 Poem by Amberlee Carter

Some Time In August 04

Rating: 3.9

Love,
I let another man into
our bed last night

You were away on business,
so I flipped the vacancy switch
and let him in, to sleep on your side
of my existence

He licked my breasts
and planted mints,
in the form of kisses,
upon the stretch of skin
between stomach and hip

Then you called and I awoke,
turned the phone away
and whispered his name

Amberlee, You have that slap my face reality in your words. It's a walk in the sun. Joe
