To engage in this romance with you
Refuse your offer of sweet wine

It’ 's funny how we cross our paths
And look the other way
I feel the pain that’ 's in your heart
But there was no other way

Maybe someday
When I am ready to love you
Then I'’ ll come back that day
Hoping to find that you’ re still true
That you’ 'd be warmer than I last imagined you
I’ 'll hold you close with a kiss to awaken you
Hold you so close so I'’ ll feel you breathe
Pledge I will never leave…

On that someday
Know that I’ 'm ready to love you
That beside you from then on I’ 'd stay
