Somehow, Suddenly Poem by Smoky Hoss

Somehow, Suddenly

There is a suddenness
in the dark,
a separation of body from heart,
a distance of the soul...
a seldom seen effrontery,
like bitter drops of rain
falling down my face,
then gone, leaving only
an intense chill,
mingled with a longing indescribable-

Who will somehow warm my deserted heart, and
lovingly place it back inside of me?
Who shall show me the sunrise
clearing away the dark sky?
Who can sing echoes of the old song,
found in the light of day?
Who will await with me
the restoration of hope?
Or am I suddenly
all alone?

When will she return...

I feel a slight crack possible in these thick clouds.
An unexpected moment of warmth
recalled...
there is hope.
Love, somehow, shall return-
