Something About Us Poem by Sean Toland

Something About Us

The night it grows still,
and the mountains go black,
we have come too far,
we most certainly can't go back,

I reach inside for the courage to say,
It's late and your tired, for tonight, please stay,

The morning brings clarity,
And warmth all around,
I look at her and smile,
As she lays naked on the ground,

Should I put on some pressure,
I am scared she will get peaved,
I whisper to her softly,
Please don't leave,

As the dusk settles,
And the sky turns to a blue,
I whisper out the words,
'I love you',

Just then I panic,
But then you pull through,
You look at me longingly,
and whisper 'I love you too'
