Something Beautiful Poem by Alysza Ripley

Something Beautiful

Upside down garbage cans
Litter the streets
Raccoons scavange the broken
City searching for
Something invisible

Broken shards of
Crystallized teeth
Scattered around frozen time
Passing too quickly to be seen

Tangled up knots
of Bleeding hearts
Canned in opaque jars
of Confusion saved for
Later Seasons

Bruises and breaks
Left unattended
Proving to be an
Invisible canker in
the Soul

Deteriorating
that which is most
Important
Something invisible
Something beautiful

Something to stay Forever
