Something Special Poem by Robert Stoddard

Something Special

Something happens when you’re in my arms.
A warmth so great that my chest burns within.
Me engine skips and grinds, and nearly melts
because it no longer desires
for the passing of days.

Those walking become blurred with
apparent speed that relates to the instantaneous turn of the
two hands that dictate our
lives from which we sought for an
escape, that can only be found in time stopping.

Enchantment. By soft silky threads sifting through my fingers.
By the gentleness of the dragon whose heart radiates throughout
me as she defeats the space between me and her.
Even unto the point where synchronized
churns of our motors can mutually be felt as if
connected, despite the fact that they’re
separated by cages of muscle and bone.

This inertia-like link that transcends time and space.
Noting else matters!

But it’s cut short, because
we can’t be seen.
Our cylinders return to normal speed,
accompanied by irrelevant worries.

But the moment is not forgotten.
We must make your luster of joy
honorable for our shared possession.
The truth always reveals itself.
Let us seek to communicate the virtues of our bond,
and from it eradicate contention and sin.
