Something To Learn Poem by Jasbir Singh

Something To Learn

Rating: 5.0

Like the grasses I want to live,
Some are tall whereas some are short
Never they complain to one who made them,
However, together they enhance their appeal.

Like the birds I want to fly,
Some are strong whereas some are weak,
Never they look down on each other,
However, always ready to help who is in need,

Like the ants I want to work,
Some are swift where as some are slow,
Never they sit idle and stagnant,
However, they all work together as something to contribute,

Like the tree I want to be humble,
It bear all the hurts and injuries,
Never it stop giving it's shade and grace,
However, always ready to show its unconditional love,

Like the human I don't want to live,
Who always seek pleasure to satisfy their needs,
Never they stops his evil desires in some ways,
However, always live a life which pleases them.

In life I learn from non - humans more,
Then, we the Humans,
They always leave me to wonder,
Us human should be much better.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It was Fresher's day for our juniors and seniors. Our class were told to prepare a special number. However, we couldn't not cooperate well. I went out from my classroom to small garden where I usually spend time alone to refresh and relax myself. As i was looking at the garden, it was full of greenery and I started writing my thoughts into words.
