Something Wicked This Way Comes Poem by Candika Niada

Something Wicked This Way Comes

A heart of terror lurks in the midst,
Always just one step behind.
I am constantly running from
This fragment in my mind.

Its always there like an extra part of me,
I can never get away.
She just lurks forever,
Each and every day.

Occasionally, she'll catch up,
And confront my very fears.
Then she'll simply disappear
Once I've cried many tears.

She'll drift back into the shadows
Of my cold lonely mind.
And once again I'll know,
She's never far behind.

Thank you for sharing this poem of what it is like to live in our fears. This reminds me of my poem In The Night. This is a 10+ poem. Best Wishes, Barbara
