Sometimes You Shake So Hard Poem by K.D Cox

Sometimes You Shake So Hard

Rating: 4.5

Do you want to forget it
when we cry all night
and love so strongly?
Sometimes we shake so hard
as if from fright.
You can get so sensitive from the thought.
Many times we race the raindrops
to the ground as we fall
And land hard,
just to get drained from it all.
There's a thick, warm liquid,
flowing from your brain
but you just laugh so hard
and kiss me so softly;
you're just ignoring your pain.
I hear the rush of the water
as we break through the surface
and we drown in the blue, airless state-of-mind.
Every night, we talk for hours
and numb each other with our words
and opinions about life
many of which help us race the raindrops
that we forget after we fall asleep.
