The long day at an end, I lay down.
Somewhere between
The gates of birth and death
(I gladly dwell.)Searching, waiting.
Welcoming the darkness.
All lies still and peace
Lays her hand upon my breast.
‘Tis then I hear you dreaming,
Feel your presence.
And my soul begins to tremble;
Wandering with passion,
To where our hearts first met.
I hear you dreaming,
See your almond eyes
So warm, yearning for love.
And as you dream
I hear your whisperings
Dancing through my mind
In the breath of dawn
Far beyond the fog
Of life's crazy delusions
And heart- breaking days.
I hear you, but it is not enough.
I see you, reach out,
Yearn for the lips I see.
Wanting,
Unable to touch.
Ah, but you are just a dream
And all I'm left with is memories,
Dwelling somewhere between…
