Somewhere I Knew Poem by Phil Soar

Somewhere I Knew

Once upon a time, somewhere I knew
I sat alone, with nothing much to do,
And So I fell asleep, perchance to dream
Like a cat who had just lapped up the cream

I twitched I guess, and eyes rolled into REM
I saw some sheep, and tried to follow them
But seeing them just kept me fast asleep
I'd counted more than I could ever keep

And once upon a time, somewhere I slept
When I awoke I could not recollect
If somewhere in my sleep, I'd counted ewe
As that seemed all my mind could ever do
